Baptism.
As of August 3rd, 2026—I’m officially baptized in the sacred name of Lady Aphrodite in the Great Lake of Michigan. The water was an absolute shock of ice, which truly felt like being reborn.
Why would I ever pledge my soul allegiance to a MAN? That was a decision made for me before I could consent—much like the rest of my womanhood. Society dictates it all.
After learning about theories of Christianity being rooted in womb envy, a lot of things began to make sense. There’s so much I could say about the patriarchy and the shadow of religion governing women’s bodies, but I’ll have to come back to that another day.
For now, I’m just elated to feel at home in my spirituality for the first time in possibly forever.
I’ll make sure to write a post about how I became a devotee of Aphrodite, along with all my insights on religion from the past 25 years of study. I might even come back and add to this post in the future.
Until then,
K.
