Grow.
Sometimes some things just don’t change.
And sometimes they do—even things you thought would last forever.
Like best friends or being a part of a family.
Those are some examples of nice things but sometimes they’re not so nice.
A lot of things are bad for you. Things that are supposed to fill your cup—but don’t. You realize how much you’ve changed as a person and how different your needs are now. You’ve grown.
I feel like a plant in the midst of being repotted.
I will be planted in better soil, and my cup will always be full. I’ve been left without sun for too long.
“I think I remembered to water the plant.”
It’s really easy to let plants die. To realize the uneven exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide. I’m choking to death and nobody notices. No. Some people do.
I was gaslit into thinking my best friend was never my best friend due to people’s inconsideration. I tried! I loved! I’ve cried a thousand tears, filling up all the cups around me and being left empty.
It’s already been proven to me that life is too short to be left wanting—waiting—and wishing things were different.
I can water myself.
